These are lesson plans created by Teacher Consultants of Coalfield Writers; each includes a strong research based focus for ways writing can be used to enhance learning, in a variety of subject and grade levels. We will continue to add lessons to this page. Using Primary DocumentsThe lesson plans here were created by TC Cynthia Ooten, teacher at Logan High School. This unit plan focuses on persuasive techniques, and is particularly useful in AP Language courses, but is also adaptable for high school level English classes. It focuses on a heart health lesson she teaches in her 10th grade Health Course, and offers many opportunities for writing.
