Continuity programs are planned and implemented by writing project sites and effect teacher consultants.

The heart of any writing project is its summer institute program, but the POWER of a writing project site lies in the continuity programs which continue to bring together teacher consultants for more work in depth around issues of writing and literacy for their classrooms.

National Writing Project summer institutes are never one-shot deals. It is the hope that the institute is the first spark for the summer fellows, and after they become teacher consultants they will continue to attend events targeted to keep them growing in their professional practice.

Continuity programs target TCs, allowing and encouraging them to grow as teacher leaders. It is the goal of Coalfield Writers to provide one or more continuity programs annually that appeal to every TC. We want to provide a rich array of opportunities for TCs to plan, implement and attend multiple programs annually.
