SI Coalfield Writer's Daily Journal June 29, 2010

The day started out with a great prompt about "What Do I Like About Teaching." Here are some of our responses, "Schools are families, Use add for good in the world, we learn about studetns through writing, we are making impacts on our students'lives, I love the lightbulb moments, Mexico and Spain are different countries, The 15 and the 30, I love snow days, hugs, excited children, elmos, smartboards, and two hour delays! I am making a difference, June, July, and August. My favorite ~ "My HOt assistant principal"!!!!

SI 2010 Day 7

Nancy presented this morning and did a cute lesson. In the afternoon Tia Miller came in and showed us some ways to initiate group discussions. Then we worked on our lesson! This is one class that I am glad I have taken even though it takes up summer. I have learned new techniques and ideas that are usuable and ready to implement in our clasroom.

Sorry I missed it!

It started off to be a great day, except for that I feel like crap! I called the doctor and will need to go to this afternoon. Thank God Butch is here with me to take me. Whatever this thing is, it is kicking my butt!! I can't concentrate enough to learn anything.

SI 2010 Day 5

The morning was a blast with a great variety of products coming from our presenter Cindy! Good job. It is right after lunch, but just before our movie. Looking forward to our foreign language movie!! Well, that movie blew my mind!! It took some coaxing from Andie for me to finally figure this one out. I have never been a horror chick anyway!

SI 2010 Day 4 June 17

This has been a great day. I enjoyed April's presentation, and the great use of technology. I think I loved the "Hairy" assignement. THere were some great reads on this topic. I am definitely glad I am hear. I almost feel normal today.

SI 2010 Day 3

If anything could go wrong it did!! I was late, but got there just in time to get to my seat. After I got there I realized I forgot my meds. My stupid life vest "gonged" at least three times. I finally excused myself with my roll of tape and scissors for a quick trip to the restroom to try to stap down my bionic equipment. I feel like a freak of nature that gongs at the most inappropriate times. I finally got intouch with Butch (I must tell him again how wonderful he is and that I love him, because I am a pain in the a_s these last few weeks).

2010 SI Day 2

I felt more attentive today and ready to go. I liked the layout of the program, plus we got to see Crystal's presentation. I was very excited and I am looking forward to working a version of it into my class. The kids will love it!!! A great way to implement time periods into LA. Conrad will have to give me ideas and maybe some specific pics he's used in his PowerPoint presentations ~ Mr. Tech Man!!!

SI 2010 Day 1

I was very anxious and groggy with the early rising and just the "not knowing" what to expect. I had a good time, everyone was friendly, and we worked more that I expected, but it was productive and positive.
