BlogsLake Erie PreludeSubmitted by Peggie B. Hensley on Sat, 2009-05-02 07:14Last night Adron and I sat up way too late, talking with Chip and Alisha, then just Alisha after Chip left for his night shift job: Sort Operations Manager at Fed Ex in Colombus, OH. Up too early now, waiting my turn in the shower... Then it's off for Lake Erie for a two day fishing for them/reading & writing marathon for me. Happy, happy! Learning to use a websiteSubmitted by Laura Tracy Baisden on Mon, 2009-04-27 20:15So here I am, on my deck on a wonderful Monday evening. The weather is warm. The air is great. The gnats are a little pesty, but since it's only the second day I've used my deck this spring(and the first evening use I've gotten) I'm willing to overlook their annoyance, as I play on my computer. This evening, I'm working on learning more about the Coalfield Writers website. I have to confess, that altough I LOVE technology, and I am amazed at how much information is available to me in this amazing Internet age, I am intimidated by this website. Carrie Browning: Kicks Off SI ‘09Submitted by mhawkins on Sat, 2009-04-25 13:17Carrie Browning, a teacher consultant from Summer Institute 2008, was a guest presenter during the Annual Kickoff Celebration on April 25, 2009. She is a second grade teacher at Omar Elementary School. She taught the participants for the 2009 Summer Institute a delightful way to teach new vocabulary words. She transported us back to second grade by showing us new words. To prepare to recognize when the story was read, we played a game with a skein of yarn. A bright colored skein of yarn was produced.
